‘Bluetown’ is ‘a dream of London about itself, a celebration of the beauty of its own alienation and loneliness’. To find ‘Bluetown’, I have superimposed an outline of Queen Elizabeth’s face on the map of London on which I plotted evenly spaced points, a grid of geographic coordinates. Following the route set by this symbol of ‘Englishness’, I then visited and photographed each one of the 100 locations.
This project was developed as part of my final project for MA Photographic Studies at University of Westminster, in London, 2010.
